Bluebirdsky Cowl

My lovely friend Sue moved to NYC last summer. For Christmas, I made her a cowl to help her stay warm while she is traveling around her new city. I didn't follow a specific pattern but here is the pattern that inspired me to make the cowl Sue is wearing in the above picture.

Sue also happens to be wearing one of the necklaces she made. She has a rad Etsy shop.   Please check out her necklaces and support a wonderful independent artist!

Blankets for the Mintons

The last time Hunter & I were at the Minton's house, I took a couple picture of the kids with the blankets I knitted for them when they were babies. These two kids are amazing! The blanket I made for Luke was the first baby blanket I ever knitted.

Afternoon

This afternoon Hunter installed a new thermostat and I made a couple cat toys and fixed up his vest.

Sprocket Pillow!

A couple months ago, I found a tutorial for a sprocket pillow and I finally got around to making it! (I still need to find a button that looks like the one that is used in the tutorial & attach it to the pillow.)

Christmas Quilt

This quilt is my newest creation. It's smaller than the 1st coin quilt I previously made. All of the fabric that was used to make the front side was old fabric that I had around the house. The fabric used for the back and the binding are new.
(sewing the binding onto the top side of the quilt)

(Thanks to Hunter for always holding up blankets when I ask him to.)
Update: On 1/30/2012 my friends Robyn & Ryan had a little girl, Marion. Robyn & Ryan really love Christmas, so I decided to give this quilt to Marion.

From Grandma

This is one of the little treasures that was found while we were cleaning out my Grandma Murnane's house years ago. When we found this my Mom gave it too me. At the time, I thought it was a really neat find, but I highly doubted I would ever be able to use it because I had never made a quilt before. Now I'm more determined than ever to make sure I make a quilt with this. We found so much stuff at her house and it's amazing to think about how many items had little handwritten notes attached to them. She liked to document who gave it to her, where it was from and when she got it.

Mary's binding tutorial

For when I need a refresher, here is Mary's binding tutorial. Once again, anyone interesting in learning about quilting should check out her quilting classes at Sew to Speak.
